Dental decay, need dental insurance that is affordable
My son has two teeth are are badly decayed. He needs to have them filled and crowned until he gets is adult teeth in.  I am getting a quote for the dental work needed at around $425.00 and that is for cheep crowns.
Right now I do not have any dental insurance will getting dental insurance help me reduce this cost? I am not sure it the price the dentist is quoting me really high or not. But know I would have problems paying $425 right now. Can you offer some suggestions

You should buy dental insurance because it will help you with your dental cost for your son. At this time Try getting an HMO dental insurance plan since they normally do not have waiting periods for dental services but please read to make sure.
Also since you need to choice a dentist in the net work make sure you call the dental office first to confirm they are still taking the HMO plan you are reviewing and that they have no problems working on a child.

I agree with Andrew either get a dental HMO or a dental discount plan since both should be able to help you out with your son current dental needs the best.
I would say to think about getting the plans for both you and your son if you not have dental insurance you are probably not taking care of your dental needs. It is just as important for you to see the dentist as it is for your son.

I do not think the price quote you are getting for your son is to far off the mark. When you do not have dental insurance you are paying full price for dental care and that can become very costly.
By getting dental insurance whether you get an HMO dental insurance plan or a dental discount plan you should see some substantial saving on your son dental treatment.
Look into both to see which will work out best for you then make sure you have a dentist that takes the plan before buying. Otherwise good luck to you
